The University of Minnesota - Twin Cities Women's Ultimate program is composed of two teams competing at the Division I level: Matrix (A team) and Mayhem (B team). Our program takes pride in its ability to be competitive without sacrificing enjoyment and spirit of the game. Both teams have coaches from various different backgrounds and experiences. Matrix and Mayhem also have captains to help guide you and the teams through your time with us. While we do hold tryouts, we are a "no cut" program. This means you are guaranteed a spot on one of our teams, regardless of skill and experience. We welcome and invite players of all levels and backgrounds to join our program!
What We Do
The University of Minnesota - Twin Cities women's ultimate teams train year round and travel to various high level tournaments across the country. This is a competitive club sport seeking players of all skill levels! If you are brand new to the sport, no problem! We will teach you everything you need to know. Whether you've always enjoyed playing ultimate or are just looking for a focused club sport team to join, we are confident our women's ultimate team is what you are looking for.
Program Name Change
In 2022, The University of Minnesota Women's Ultimate program changed the program's team names from Ninjas (A team) and Katanas (B team) to Matrix (A team) and Mayhem (B team). This was an important step for our program's mission of equity and anti-racism. We will continue to have important conversations about equity and inclusion to recommit ourselves to this mission.
